Description
When I was a defiant and moody teenager, my parents sought therapy for me. Therapy was place in which I felt supported and understood. I was able to learn great insight into how I tick and understanding others’ perspectives. It was through that experience that I was inspired to create an environment for others that was both validating and encouraging for personal growth.
I aim to establish a therapeutic relationship that enables my clients to move forward with their goals, whether it be their self-image, personal relationships, managing difficult emotions, or getting through an especially challenging life event. I pull from a number of different theories and therapeutic approaches. However, I believe that without a strong therapeutic relationship, no work can be done, thus that is my main focus.
I can appreciate that waving the white flag and taking the step to meet with a mental health professional is not an easy task for many. I applaud those who take the risk to open up to a therapist, ask for that outside perspective, and take the plunge inward to learn more about how they can meet their goals!
